Dr. El Ottman (Neuromotor Recovery Lab) is a research physical therapist and current second year Rehabilitation Sciences PhD student at Boston University in the Neuromotor Recovery Laboratory, co-mentored by Dr. Lou Awad and Dr. Terry Ellis. She received her B.S. in Kinesiology with a Neuroscience minor from the University of San Francisco in 2015, and her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from Eastern Washington University in 2019. Her academic and clinical backgrounds have informed her research interests in developing evidence-based neurorehabilitation interventions that support the restoration of functional mobility in neurological patient populations. El is currently investigating the utility of neuroimaging modalities to characterize the effects of assistive and rehabilitative technologies on post-stroke walking function.
