Brandon Williams (White Lab) graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering. His interest in neurophotonics began through his undergraduate research with electroencephalography (EEG) and functional near infrared spectroscopy (fNIRs). He became further involved in neurophotonics after learning about the ability to control neurons using optogenetics. In Dr. John White’s lab, he plans to study the biophysical properties of grid cells in the medial entorhinal cortex. He expects to graduate in May 2024 with a PhD in Biomedical Engineering.
