Akemi Ito

Akemi is a third-year in the Graduate for Neuroscience program, co-mentored by Dr. Steve Ramirez and Dr. John White. She graduated from the University of San Diego in 2022 with a B.A. in Behavioral Neuroscience and a minor in Biomedical Ethics. Akemi’s research focuses on imaging and manipulating hippocampal circuitry to understand the dynamics of memory formation, storage, and retrieval.
