Welcoming Anderson Chen to BU Neurophotonics
Please welcome Anderson Chen to BU. He started September 1 as a research scientist for the Neurophotonics Center. He will be in charge of developing new microscope systems for the center. Prior to joining us he had a post-doctoral fellowship with Na Ji at Janelia Research Campus, HHMI. Before that, he was a senior electro-optical engineer and software engineer at Newport Corporation. He has a bachelor’s, MS and PhD degree in physics. He has hands on experience with adaptive optics, two-photon microscopy, in vivo imaging (zebrafish, mouse, fly), spatial light modulators, deformable mirrors, interferometric and dispersion based spectroscopy, advanced signal and imagine processing techniques, phase sensitive detection. He is also proficient in multitude of software packages and languages (LabView, Zemax, Matlab, Origin, MS
Office Suite, Windows XP, Adobe Suite, and Solidworks). He has impressive engineering skills and is very helpful to others sharing his expertise. Furthermore, he has a cheerful attitude and is very easy to work with. Please introduce yourselves if you come across with him on campus. He would be happy to meet fellow researchers and discuss about the future projects.
