Matthias Stangl Receives R00 Grant from NIH

Assistant Professor Matthias Stangl has been awarded a R00 grant from NIH for his collaborative project entitled, “The neural mechanisms of spatial representations beyond the self” (~$750k over 3 years).

This project places the Stangl lab in direct collaboration with the Boston Medical Center, Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and NeuroPace Inc. (a company developing invasive neuromodulation systems).

The project furthermore builds upon findings from the Stangl group’s previous research (https://www.nature.com/articles/s41586-020-03073-y) and is in line with the perspective and vision that they have described in another paper (https://www.nature.com/articles/s41583-023-00692-y) on how we can study the human brain in everyday life and social situations.
