Google Drive
Due to growing costs for cloud storage from Dropbox, Google, and Microsoft, the storage options below may be unavailable or have more strict storage limits. Before choosing a storage option, please contact us to review your needs and the available options.
Google Drive is the default cloud storage option available to students at BU, and can be made available to faculty and staff if needed. Like many other cloud storage options, Google Drive has the following benefits:
- Collaborate with colleagues through file sharing and simultaneous editing
- Create and modify files using Google’s online suite of programs
- Access to activity history and trash bin for retrieving old versions or deleted copies
- A desktop tool to allow users to sync files from their computer’s File Explorer/Finder to the cloud
Support Policy
MET IT is responsible for the following:

Users may save files that have a Data Classification of “Confidential” and lower.

- Faculty/Emeritus accounts: 150 GB
