NOTE: This saving option is only available to those users accessing the Virtual Labs through the Omnissa Horizon Client.
One time requirement: Check that you are sharing a folder with the Horizon client.
Saving from the Virtual Lab to Your Computer
- Make sure you have a shared folder with your computer and the VLAB (see One time requirement section at the top of this page)

- From the virtual lab, open This PC
- (Or from the File explorer navigate to ‘This PC”)

- (Or from the File explorer navigate to ‘This PC”)
- In the ‘Network Locations’ section, locate the drive with the name of your computer
- (in this case my computer name is ed-laptop)
- This drive represents the folder in your computer you shared (from the section above)
- This location is synchronized with your computer, so any files you save here will be saved to the folder in your computer you shared
- Drag and drop the file from the Virtual Lab desktop to the desired location.

- You have saved the file to your computer.
- In your laptop navigate to the folder you shared with the VLAB to see that the files have been saved correctly.

- In your laptop navigate to the folder you shared with the VLAB to see that the files have been saved correctly.
NOTE: For optimal performance, avoid opening files directly from this drive within the VLAB. Instead, copy the files to the VLAB (as described below), work on them locally within the lab, and then copy them back to the shared drive once finished.
Uploading Files to the Virtual Lab
You can also use the shared folder with your computer to uploads files from your personal computer to the virtual lab.
- Make sure you have a shared folder with your computer and the VLAB (see One time requirement section at the top of this page)

- In your personal computer, place the file you want to upload in the folder that is shared with the VLAB

- From the virtual lab, navigate to “This PC”

- Drag and drop the file to the virtual lab desktop

- The file is now in the Virtual Lab and you can work with it with better performance than if you opened it directly from the shared folder (see note below)
- When you are finished, copy the file back to the shared folder to save to your computer

NOTE: For better performance, copy your files to the VLAB before opening them. Opening files directly from your shared folder in the VLAB requires data to travel over the internet, which can lead to slower performance.
