Boston University Investment Office
Our Mission
The Boston University Investment Office seeks to support the mission of the University through effective stewardship of the Endowment ($3+ billion).
Boston University is the 4th largest private, not-for-profit, residential research university in the US, with over 35,000 students and annual revenue in excess of $2.5+ billion.
Our Goals
Today, our Endowment distributions support ~4% of the University’s annual operating budget and our goal is to provide stable near-term and growing longer-term operating support.
Both of these characteristics shape our investment strategy:
Equity dominance to grow
Ability to accept short-term volatility for greater longer-term returns
Diversification to ensure sustainable annual operating budget support
Intergenerational Equity
We strive to preserve (and enhance) the real purchasing power of the Endowment by delivering attractive risk-adjusted and absolute returns over time.
