Valeria Rios Molina

portraits_Page_01Ms. Valeria Rios Molina has extensive experience in structuring fixed income instruments. She currently works as a consultant and area supervisor for the Mercantil Santa Cruz Stock Exchange Agency.

Throughout her career, Ms. Rios Molina has worked with several of Bolivia’s largest companies with a cumulative portfolio of more than $650 million USD.  She further contributed to the structuring of Bolivia’s two largest bond insurance programs—for Telefónica Celular (TIGO), the country’s second largest mobile operator (a USD $200 million endeavor), and Banco Mercantil Santa Cruz (BMSC), the country’s largest financial institution (for USD $150 million). She also initiated the structuring of small and midsize enterprises (SMEs) for the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Project. In 2015, she was recognized by the Mercantil Santa Cruz Stock Exchange Agency and the Bolivian Stock Exchange for financing the largest amount of capital through bond issuances in Bolivia.

Ms. Rios Molina holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Financial Engineering from Bolivian Private University (La Paz) and a Master’s Degree in Administration of Institutions and Financial Divisions from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain).

During her Fellowship year, Ms. Rios Molina will focus on U.S. financial markets and leadership development. Upon her return to Bolivia, she intends to implement an innovative stock exchange financial product in Bolivia, allowing SMEs to access better financing conditions.
