Ricardo Mendieta

RicardoRicardo Mendieta has over twelve years of experience teaching English as a foreign language in various educational institutions. He currently works in the English Department at the National Autonomous University of Nicaragua in Managua. He has also worked as a secondary-level teacher trainer in workshops organized by the Nicaraguan Association of English Teachers. In preparation for this work, he participated in the “Book in a Box” and “Writing on the Road” programs organized by the American Embassy. Ricardo earned a bachelor’s degree in education with a concentration in English from the Ruben Dario Campus of the National Autonomous University of Nicaragua, Managua. He also received a diploma of participation from the University of Illinois at Chicago for the Study of the United States Institute (SUSI) Program and a Certificate of Study from the United States Institute for Secondary Educators. During his Humphrey year, he plans to enhance his English language proficiency, learn new approaches to teaching English, and deepen his understanding of American culture.
