Daniel A. Laryea
Daniel A. Laryea is manager and deputy head of information management in the Human Resource Department of the Bank of Ghana. He is also head of the department’s Information Security Unit, where he was instrumental in the introduction and design of the bank’s first personnel database. Prior to this, Mr. Laryea worked in the training, performance management, recruitment and selection, leave administration, loan administration, and industrial relations units. He has also been negotiating conditions of service for employees of the bank for over seven years and played a key role in crafting and reviewing the Bank of Ghana’s Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plan in 2005 and 2010, respectively. In 2008, Mr. Laryea was involved in coordinating the bank’s six regional offices to ensure the effective implementation of policies to strengthen operations.
Mr. Laryea has a bachelor’s degree in human resource management from the University of Ghana Business School and a certificate in statistics from the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research of the University of Ghana, Legon. He has participated in numerous local and overseas training courses to enhance his skills.
During his Humphrey year, he will work to advance his knowledge and understanding of strategic human resource management issues, as well as his capabilities in human resource information systems, security, and project management.
