Hang Vu
Ms. Hang Vu is currently the Deputy Director of the Marine Insurance Division at PetroVietnam Insurance Corporation (PVI), one of the leading insurers in Vietnam. For over four years, she oversaw and managed marine liability insurance and trade credit insurance product lines. She also participated in market research and planning as well as new product development and training. Prior to working at PVI, Ms. Vu was a Program Coordinator at the People’s Aid Coordinating Committee of Vietnam (PACCOM). At PACCOM, she helped facilitated foreign NGO operations in Vietnam.
Ms. Vu holds a bachelor’s degree in international economics from the Foreign Trade University in Hanoi. As a recipient of the joint FCO Chevening – BP – University of Leeds Scholarship, Ms. Vu obtained her master’s degree in economics from the University of Leeds in England. She is also an alumna of the East-West Center where she participated in the 2010 Changing Faces Women’s Leadership Seminar.
During her Humphrey year, Ms. Vu intends to explore management strategies, as well as to develop knowledge and skills of financial and risk management. She is also interested in learning the American perspective on economic development issues and plans to build upon her professional network.
