What is the Double Terrier Scholarship?
The Double Terrier Scholarship is a guaranteed 25% tuition scholarship for Boston University alumni who earned a BU bachelor’s degree and enroll in an eligible BU master’s program beginning in Summer 2026.
The scholarship is automatically awarded upon admission—no separate application is required.
Who is eligible for the scholarship?
You are eligible for the Double Terrier Scholarship if you:
- Earned a bachelor’s degree from Boston University or the former Wheelock College, and
- Are admitted to an eligible BU master’s program with a start term of Summer 2026 or later
If you meet these criteria, the scholarship will be applied automatically to your financial aid package.
Which master’s programs are eligible for the scholarship?
Eligible programs include select Boston University master’s programs beginning in Summer 2026 or later.
Because eligibility varies by program, we encourage you to review the full list to confirm whether your program qualifies.

Are there any program exceptions?
Yes. The Double Terrier Scholarship does not apply to the following programs:
- Combined bachelor’s/master’s programs or other formally approved combined undergraduate/graduate programs
- While most online programs are eligible for the Double Terrier award, the following online programs do not offer this award: Online MBA, Online MS in Data Science, Online MPH, Online MS in AI for Software Engineering, Online MS in AI for Enterprise IT, Online MS in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, Online MS in Artificial Intelligence in Business, and Online EdM in AI and Education.
- Doctoral programs, including professional doctorates and PhD programs
- Graduate certificates, diplomas, and other non-master’s graduate programs
- Undergraduate (bachelor’s) programs
- Non-degree and non-credit programs

Can this scholarship be combined with other BU scholarships or financial aid?
Yes. The Double Terrier Scholarship guarantees at least 25% off tuition.
In some cases, schools or colleges may offer additional funding as part of a student’s total award package.
Are current master’s students who have earned bachelor’s degrees from BU eligible for this scholarship?
Students who earned their bachelor’s degree from Boston University and began a master’s program before Summer 2026 are not eligible for this scholarship.
