Helping graduates achieve global competence is a key strategic goal for many institutions. As all sectors of the economy extend beyond linguistic and cultural borders, there is increasing demand for employees with intercultural and multilingual skills. Many institutions are moving toward a model that weaves language and culture across the curriculum. They have engaged faculty, administrators, students (both domestic and international), international services, and academic departments to collaborate and envision a new approach to language and cultural experiences outside of traditional language courses.
