Description Statement:

Prof. Matt Fox and Jacob Bor are looking for a student to assist with statistical and epidemiologic analysis of a unique database: a complete laboratory-based cohort of HIV patients in South Africa’s HIV treatment program. Study questions may include: understanding long run treatment outcomes, rates of transfer across clinics and retention in care, describing local-area variation in the scale-up of HIV treatment, and evaluating policy changes.

Scope of Work:

We are looking for a student research assistant with strong computing skills in SAS, R, or Stata, and experience working with large datasets. We are looking for support with some analyses and preparing tables and figures for papers. Students meeting ICMJE authorship criteria will be included as co-authors on resulting manuscripts. Additional practicum, CE, dissertation, or publication opportunities may arise from initial work.

Minimum skills desired:

Strong computing skills in in SAS, R, or Stata. Experience with large datasets. Familiarity with a Unix environment strongly preferred. Ability to work independently.

Time / Date Expectations:

10-15 hours per week, beginning Jan 2016. This is an open-ended assignment. Success with initial tasks will lead to opportunities for further involvement with the project.
