Global Emergency Care Collaborative is pleased to announce that we are now accepting applications for International Healthcare Leadership Fellows for the 2015-2016 academic year.

During the seven-month Field Leadership Experience, Fellows will manage 10 to 15 local employees and international volunteers at an Emergency Department-based training and research site in Uganda or Kenya. Fellows will spend the remaining five months in the United States working on a range of projects designed to prepare them for leadership positions in academic medicine and global health.

The Global Emergency Care Collaborative will provide mentorship opportunities to co-author original research papers, assistance arranging academic credit, and coverage of travel and living expenses during the Field Leadership Experience in East Africa.

Successful applicants should have prior experience working in low resource settings and a high level of commitment to global health, sustainable development, health systems strengthening, and capacity building. Third Sector New England is looking for outstanding individuals who want to learn about nonprofit capacity-building.

This four month paid fellowship (February-May 2015) is an amazing opportunity to shadow nonprofit organizational development consultants in the field, to gain first-hand knowledge of the internal management of a nonprofit capacity-building firm, to learn about the theories underlying capacity-building consulting, to understand how nonprofit organizational assessments are conducted, and to learn about evaluation processes for nonprofit capacity-building efforts. This fellowship will be customized to fit both personal learning goals and TSNE’s organizational goals.

CDC offers an intensive one-year fellowship within the Center for Global Health for MPH graduates.  The prestigious Allan Rosenfield Fellowships for 2014-2015 were just announced and 4 of the 31 recipients (13%) are BUSPH Alumni:

Job Overview: The Program Advisor for Strategic Engagement will support the Commodities Security and Logistics Division, of the Office of Population and Reproductive Health, to better strategically engage with key family planning stakeholders and to identify local and regional procurement solutions for family planning commodities in support of USAID Forward and other Agency initiatives. S/he will serve as a member of the Central Contraceptive Procurement (CCP) Project team, providing technical guidance to USAID field programs and partners in the procurement of family planning commodities. The Advisor will support  strategic engagement efforts with key global and regional procurers of family planning commodities, industry and across Global Health.

If so, Initiatives Inc. is seeking a Public Health intern with some background on Community Health Workers and an interest in website design and management to help us distribute information on CHW issues, policies, research and best practices to the global community.

Desired Skills:
• Good writing skills
• A background or interest in Public Health preferred
• Website design and maintenance: knowledge of Drupal, HTML, CSS, PHP and Java
• Experience with social media marketing and communication strategies

Global Pediatric Fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital

Global Pediatric Fellowship in Health Service Delivery
Division of General Pediatrics, Boston Children’s Hospital

We are currently accepting applications for the Global Pediatric Fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital. This is a two year training program, in which Fellows rotate in 6 month blocks between a field placement in Haiti, Rwanda, or Liberia, and a clinical placement in Boston, Massachusetts. The focus of the fellowship is on skills in global health service delivery, including:

  • Clinical care
  • Medical education
  • Program development
  • Management
  • Evaluation
  • Quality improvement
  • Iimplementation focused research.

During their field placement, fellows will work in collaboration with Partners In Health (Haiti/Rwanda) or the Academic Collaborative to Support Medical Education in Liberia to provide pediatric training to local clinicians, strengthen existing child health programs, and expand access to pediatric health care.

Prior to departing to their field site, fellows attend a 1-week orientation to fieldwork in Haiti through PIH. During their clinical placement in Boston, fellows will combine clinical work in general pediatrics with an extensive global health curriculum aimed at strengthening their core clinical, public health, quality improvement, and teaching skills relevant to global health. Fellows attend the Global Health Delivery Summer Intensive Program at the Harvard School of Public Health, in addition to courses in clinical skills, ultrasound, research, and QI.

Candidates must be board certified/eligible in pediatrics or medicine-pediatrics. For entry into the fellowship on July 1st, 2015, the application deadline is October 10th, 2014. To apply click here.
