Job Description: The purpose of this position is to manage multiple federal and non-federal research and training grants, and to support administrative responsibilities of the Rhode Island Public Health Institute. This person will oversee protocol development, implementation and evaluation of research grants, including but not limited to student and fellow recruitment, developing training curriculum, scheduling travel and logistics for fellow training, writing reports for funding agencies. Current projects for which the Coordinator will be responsible include: the Brazil Community Health Fellowship, the Clinical and Community-Based HIV/AIDS Research Training Fellowship, and the Minority Health and Health Disparities International Research Training Program. The Coordinator will also work directly with undergraduate, graduate, and medical students, and doctoral and post-doctoral fellows to assist with research projects, IRB submissions, scheduling and overseeing mentorship activities with the Principal Investigator. Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in related field (strongly preferred) with evidence of academic achievement and 3 years research experience required. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Knowledge of grant project research designs, organizational relationships, and the national and international context in which these projects operate.
- Experience in grant project management.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Motivated and self-starting.
- Effective training/teaching and supervisory skills.
