NEID Event: The Role of International NGOs, Medical and Public Health Institutions in Responding to the Ebola Crisis

December 5 @ 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm

Join us on Friday, December 5th, 1-3:30 for a second panel in our NEID Ebola series: The Role of International NGOs, Medical and Public Health Institutions in Responding to the Ebola Crisis. While our first panel focused on the important work of grassroots non-profits in Liberia and Sierra Leone, this second panel will discuss the critical and complementary work of larger organizations, including UNICEF, Save the Children, MGH Center for Global Health Disaster Response and John Snow, Inc, in providing clinical care, rolling out public health education campaigns, and working with the Ministry of Health to strengthen health systems. Also to be discussed are the consequences of Ebola, including a huge increase in orphans and vulnerable children, population-wide trauma, and a severely impacted economy. This event will be held at John Snow Inc. Offices, located at 44 Farnsworth Street, 9th Floor, Boston, MA 02210.
