Come learn about the Actuarial & Analytic Services (A&AS) Summer Internship at Blue Cross Blue Shield!
The internship is designed to provide graduate students with an interest in pursuing an actuarial or healthcare data analytics career the opportunity to spend their summer working on challenging projects in a professional environment. In the past, interns have worked on a variety of interesting assignments, including pricing, product development, financial planning & reserving, provider contracting, and medical economics. Hepatitis B Program Coordinator Wanted at the Center for Asian Health at Saint Barnabas Medical Center
LOCATION: CENTER FOR ASIAN HEALTH, SAINT BARNABAS MEDICAL CENTER, LIVINGSTON, NJ
The Hepatitis B Program Coordinator will be responsible for development and implementation of a CDC-funded hepatitis B outreach, screening and linkage-to-care program in the Asian community in New Jersey.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Coordinator will work closely with community members, health care providers, hospital staff, the NJ Hepatitis B Coalition, and CDC personnel to:
- Learn and maintain an awareness of issues and trends in hepatitis B and health disparities
- Build and maintain relationships with local community groups and physicians
- Plan, coordinate and implement hepatitis B outreach & screening events
- Communicate with patients and navigate them into care
- Maintain a patient care database
- Compile and prepare reports per CDC requirements
- Conduct educational outreach to healthcare providers on hepatitis B
- Assist with NJ Hepatitis B Coalition (meetings, correspondence)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required and at least two years of experience in health, social, and/or community services. Master’s degree in Public Health or relevant field preferred.
- Fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese required
- Must be very personable, highly-motivated, and interested in community health
- Some program or project management experience
- Able to thrive in a team-based setting but also work independently in the field
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
- Database and report-writing experience
- Must be very organized and have excellent verbal and interpersonal skills
- Able to work occasional nights/weekends
- Ownership of reliable transportation
- Must have good recommendations

The Office of Public Health Practice is accepting applications for the Spotlight on Mental Health Student Committee! This committee will be tasked with providing the Practice Office with feedback, guidance, and support for various events and program decisions. The Spotlight series is a two-year school-wide initiative to examine issues in mental health from an interdisciplinary public health perspective. Students with an interest in looking at how mental health disorders affect population health are especially encouraged to apply. As this committee will be heavily involved in event planning, we are also interested in applications from people who have some event management experience. Students from all BUSPH concentrations are eligible to apply.

International Emory Global Health Case Competition
Looking for innovative ways to apply your public health skills? Interested in global health issues of the 21st century? Join our team for the International Emory Global Health Case Competition, March 27-28, 2015. We are creating a diverse team of BU students from medicine, public health, engineering, and business for this competition and especially need MPH students with strong presentation skills. CDC offers an intensive one-year fellowship within the Center for Global Health for MPH graduates. The prestigious Allan Rosenfield Fellowships for 2014-2015 were just announced and 4 of the 31 recipients (13%) are BUSPH Alumni:
