Short-term TA needed from October-March at Local Public Health Institute of MA

Local Public Health Institute of MA at BUSPH is looking to hire a teaching assistant for a 50 hour course being taught from October 2014 to March 2015.
Title: Teaching Assistant I
Hours: approximately 60-75 spread out over 5-6 months
Salary: $15/hour
The teaching assistant will be helping with the Foundations Course for the Local Public Health Institute of MA. This is a 50 hour blended format course designed to teach those in the public health field about the basics of local public health practice. The TA will attend all class sessions, both in-person and virtually, and assist the course director with all aspects of course management. They will be responsible for tracking students’ completion of assignments. The TA will provide professional correspondence with students regularly. This includes responding to email requests within 24 hours. This job will include some travel to Boylston, MA.
Qualifications:
- MPH or MPH candidate
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience with databases, including Microsoft Excel
- High level of organization skills
- Ability to balance multiple projects at the same time
- Availability over school breaks including winter break
- Interest in local public health a plus
- Valid driver’s license and a car are a plus (travel expenses reimbursed)
