We are currently accepting applications for the Global Pediatric Fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital. This is a two year training program, in which Fellows rotate in 6 month blocks between a field placement in Haiti, Rwanda, or Liberia, and a clinical placement in Boston, Massachusetts. The focus of the fellowship is on skills in global health service delivery, including:
- Clinical care
- Medical education
- Program development
- Management
- Evaluation
- Quality improvement
- Iimplementation focused research.
During their field placement, fellows will work in collaboration with Partners In Health (Haiti/Rwanda) or the Academic Collaborative to Support Medical Education in Liberia to provide pediatric training to local clinicians, strengthen existing child health programs, and expand access to pediatric health care.
Prior to departing to their field site, fellows attend a 1-week orientation to fieldwork in Haiti through PIH. During their clinical placement in Boston, fellows will combine clinical work in general pediatrics with an extensive global health curriculum aimed at strengthening their core clinical, public health, quality improvement, and teaching skills relevant to global health. Fellows attend the Global Health Delivery Summer Intensive Program at the Harvard School of Public Health, in addition to courses in clinical skills, ultrasound, research, and QI.

SPH IH 756 - Analytical Methods for Pharmaceutical Systems Assessment
This course offered on Tuesdays from 10:00am-1:00pm.
This course, taught by Professor Laing, aims to help students:
- Develop skills essential to assessing and evaluating pharmaceutical policy and the performance of pharmaceutical programs.
- Develop a pharmaceutical country profile.
- Analyze medicine prices and availability.
- Apply technical guidelines, and use other assessment tools and methods in the pharmaceutical sector.
- Develop skills to undertake a sampling exercise.
- Use qualitative methods.
- Review and write technical reports.
- Use instruments which are already developed with a focus on implementation issues, analysis of data collected and awareness of strength and limitation of each method applied.
The course will introduce students to the many resources which exist to help understand pharmaceutical sectors, and prepare them to work in a national or sub national pharmaceutical system.

Children's Nutrition Program of Haiti (CNP)/Kore Timoun’s mission is to improve the health and development and nutritional status of Haitian women and children.

Monitoring and Evaluation Intern:
Works with a strong team to actively help fulfill the vision, mission and activities of the CNP to improve the health and nutritional status of women and children.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement, in collaboration with the Country Program Director, a plan for local M&E activities to support the program activities
- Track progress on a regular basis toward project results through M&E processes and related tools that support quality assurance for key project result areas
- Compile and disseminate results to relevant audiences including cluster meetings, monitrices and other CNP employees, community forums, etc.
- Build solid relationships with CNP staff to develop a clear understanding of their strategies and program activities, providing training and technical support for the monitoring and evaluation aspects of their work
- Deliver coordination and training to help CNP staff and partners develop the skills and experience needed to design effective programs that will result in useful information for planning ,monitoring and evaluation
- Support efforts to consider overall organizational effectiveness and measurement of progress against strategic plan
- Ensure effective management and use of CNP's database
- Assist in grant writing activities
- Write reports to donors and the Haitian government on field activities
Skills Required
- Passion for helping others, nutrition and maternal and child health
- Great organizational skills and flexibility and ability to adapt to the changing environment working for an NGO in Haiti
- Not afraid of hard work, can live in difficult conditions, and ability to hike in the mountains
- Proficiency in Haitian Kreyol and/or French
- Bachelor's degree in public health, nutrition, international development or relations, communications, grant writing or other related field
- Knowledgeable in the field of monitoring and evaluation, and maternal and child health and nutrition
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Access
Skills Desired
- Previous experience working in a developing country
- Experience in monitoring and evaluation
- Master's degree in public health, nutrition, intenrational development, or related field
- Proficiency in Haitian Kreyol
