2014-2015 Vera Fellowship Program
In its third year, the Vera Fellowship Program provides energetic, hard-working and impact-driven young professionals with the opportunity to solve problems for some of the most innovative NGOs, social enterprises, and grant-making institutions worldwide.
Through a year-long placement in one of Vera’s hubs, Fellows gain:
- First-hand experience and mentorship in the design and implementation of monitoring, evaluation and management systems in health, education, and development
- Valuable knowledge of Force.com, the world’s leading cloud-computing platform currently used by more than 100,000 for-profit and 20,000 non-profit organizations worldwide
- Exposure to the landscape of cloud- and mobile-technologies used across the sector
Fellows come from diverse professional and educational backgrounds but share a common belief in the power of data to transform the efficiency and effectiveness of social impact organizations. You can visit Vera’s blog to learn more about our work.

The BU Center for Global Health & Development (CGHD), School of Public Health (SPH), and the College of Communication (COM) in partnership with the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting are offering a paid international reporting Fellowship to two BU students.
During this summer Fellowship, two outstanding BU students will have the opportunity to work in Washington, D.C., at the Pulitzer Center headquarters and to travel internationally (likely to a developing country) on a 2-3 week reporting trip mentored by a professional journalist.

The presenters will then engage in a conversation with the keynote speakers and with Charlie MacCormack, President Emeritus at Save The Children, on the Shubert Theater stage and in front of the conference audience. The expert speakers will answer questions and offer guidance and advice. The entire audience will then have an opportunity to ask questions of the presenters and the expert speakers. In addition to offering a unique opportunity for the six selected presenters, the Innovators Forum audience will gain extensive insight from the expert speakers about navigating the challenges and complexities of real issues being experienced by the innovators in the audience.

BUSM historical society proudly presents a talk by Dr. Douglas Hughes, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. At this talk he will discuss the life of Dr. Charles Eastman, BUSM Class of 1980 and the first Native American to graduate from a medical school in the United States. Charles Eastman was the first physician to attend to the victims of the massacre at Wounded Knee and later became an advocate for Native Americans and civil society in the United States.
