Wednesday October 23, 2013
5:00-6:00 PM
Room R123, First Floor of the Medical School Building
Are you interested in working with high school students? Are you looking for a robust practicum experience?
The Boston Trinity Academy is looking for BUSPH students to participate in the Trinity Institute for Leadership and Social Justice. This is an excellent opportunity to engage with the bright and motivated students of Boston Trinity Academy, in developing and conducting community engagement and service activities around public health issues. BUSPH students would be tasked with leading student action groups, and encouraging student participation and ownership of their designated public health issue. The Institute currently works on the following issues: human trafficking, tobacco-free campaigns, homelessness care, and environmental issues.
Some of the many experiences that you will gain through this practicum experience are:
* Education/awareness building around your health issue
* Curriculum building
* Event planning
* Community engagement
* Leadership
Boston Trinity Academy is in Hyde Park, and is accessible by MBTA http://www.bostontrinity.org/
Come to this information session to learn more about this excellent practicum opportunity, to connect with the field supervisor (Mike Chen, mchen@bostontrinity.org), and to ask all your questions.
