Part-Time Development Intern

United for Health Abyssinia (UHA) is a small non-profit organization committed to building the capacity of hospitals and communities in Ethiopia to fight tuberculosis. Partnering with regional hospital, we identify gaps in services, evaluate existing programs, conduct education, and organize communities to be active participants in their own health. You can learn more at www.healthforabyssinia.org.

UHA is seeking 3 part-time development interns to assist with website development, social media management, and fundraising. Interns will gain experience in business development in the non-profit industry. Deliverables will include the creation of an organizational “brand.” The Development Interns will have the opportunity to participate in strategic planning and organization meetings. They will also have the opportunity to participate in technical support meetings with larger organizations, such as Partners in Health.

We are looking for a team of people who will play a critical role in the growth and development of UHA.  We are therefore looking for creative individuals who can bring unique ideas to the fundraising strategies of the organization and have the follow-through to implement them. Interns will be working off site, so the ability to work independently while collaborating with a team is important. This is an opportunity for a small group of people to make a big impact for people in need.

●     Experience developing and managing a website

●     Experience fundraising, in any capacity

●     Proficient in social media

●     Strong writing skills

●     Knowledge of international health and/or development preferred

●     Some international experience preferred

Interested applications should send a cover letter and resume via email to admin@healthforabyssinia.org. Please include how many hours you will be able to dedicate to this position per week and, if in need of school credit, administrative requirements of your institution. While this is currently an unpaid position, UHA is a growing organization and always looking for new talent to grow with us.
