Dr. Demet Güral is Pathfinder International’s Vice President of Technical and Program Strengthening and a physician and public health specialist with more than 25 years of experience in sexual and reproductive health programs and primary health care management. Pathfinder International’s mission is to ensure that people everywhere have the right and opportunity to live a healthy sexual and reproductive life.
In her current role, Dr. Gural oversees the implementation of Pathfinder strategies. From 1996-1998, she served as the Chief of Party for Pathfinder’s award-winning Comprehensive Postpartum Project in Amman, Jordan. Earlier she served as Associate Director for Asia/Near East, Regional Medical Director, and as Pathfinder’s Country Representative for Turkey. She has also served as Executive Director of Willows Foundation, which has extensive reproductive health programs in Turkey and Ghana, where she focused on integrating community-based services and finding innovative ways to reach out to underserved populations. In addition, she has served as Executive Director for the Human Resource Development Foundation in Turkey, where she established a diversity program in sexual reproductive health and rights for vulnerable groups in Turkey, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, and initiated the first NGO anti-human trafficking program in Turkey raising more than $1.5 million.
