BUSM – R building R103

Join Dr. Heidi Behforouz, director of Partners In Health’s (PIH) Prevention and Access to Care and Treatment (PACT) program (http://www.pih.org/pages/usa/), as she speaks on the PACT’s findings that well-supported and well-integrated CHWs enable care teams to improve their patients’ health outcomes and reduce expenditures on healthcare. Based on the accompagnateur model pioneered in rural Haiti, the PACT project focuses on effectively integrating community health workers (CHWs) into primary care and mental health teams. PACT partners with clinics to develop the infrastructure, culture, quality improvement tools, and skills necessary to support effective CHW interventions for the most vulnerable patients. Dr. Behforouz will speak about PACT’s findings that well-supported and well-integrated CHWs enable care teams to improve their patients’ health outcomes and reduce expenditures on healthcare.

This is the second installment of the BUSM’s Global Health Equity Program’s Global Health Speaker series. Stay tuned for more!

All MPH students are more than welcome to attend.
