Every Child Deserves a Fifth Birthday Campaign…how you can help!
The USAID and UNICEF-led Every Child Deserves a Fifth Birthday campaign officially kicked off Monday April 23rd! The campaign aims to engage the public & raise awareness leading up to the June Call to Action for Child Survival here in Washington DC, advocating for an end to preventable child deaths within a generation. For public health students, the campaign is a great way to lend your voice to a growing movement to use the tools at our fingertips (most of which can fit in a backpack) to continue to reduce child mortality.
Please post your own fifth birthday photo along with a birthday wish for children around the world to the campaign site. You can learn more about the campaign in this short videographic from the team at USAID, and (if you’re looking for inspiration) check out these submissions from the famous & not-so-famous (including a BUSPH alumna) that have already been uploaded to the site.
If you have any questions about the campaign, please feel free to reach out to alumna Amanda Makulec at amakulec@jsi.com, who is a member of the campaign’s External Engagement Working Group. The best way to get involved is by uploading your photo & asking your friends and family to do the same. Thanks for your support!
