The Global Health Fellows Program II is pleased to announce its Internships with the US Agency for International Development (USAID) in the Agency’s Washington, DC headquarters. These exciting positions consist of a summer cohort of 25.
Work with the largest development agency in the world
USAID is home to a wide range of global health professionals working on health projects of international scope and importance. Contribute your skills to specific activities in one of the offices in USAID’s Bureau for Global Health—Office of the Assistant Administrator, Office of HIV/AIDS, Office of Population and Reproductive Health, Office of Health, Infectious Diseases and Nutrition.
These internships provide a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in the field of global health. Interns will be working with experienced professionals on health projects of international importance.

One Year Internship Opportunity with Stipend in Guatemala!
Hospitalito Atitlán is a non-profit, non-governmental hospital located on the beautiful shores of Lake Atitlán, Guatemala. It primarily serves the indigenous Maya people of Santiago Atitlán and nearby communities. The hospital provides 24-hour emergency care, clinics and education. There is a special emphasis on maternal and infant care, as the maternal and infant mortality rates in this region are among the highest in the Western Hemisphere. The hospital staff is comprised of a unique combination of local, permanent staff including physicians, nurses and social workers along with medical and non-medical volunteers from around the world. The hospital is currently looking for an intern to work in their development office in order to assist with the development of new plans and programs for the hospital.

The Global Health Fellows Program II has 25 sought-after internships for summer 2012. To help maximize the chances for selection, they have developed a webinar filled with inside tips and valuable information to help applicants stand out during the review process. All the positions are with the Bureau for Global Health at the US Agency for International Development in Washington, DC. Requirements and the application are available at www.ghfp.net.
In this interactive webinar, a senior GHFP-II staffer will take participants through the basics—crafting a great application, focusing the resume for maximum effectiveness—and much more. One of our 2011 interns will also be online to describe first hand his experience as an HIV/AIDS Testing and Counseling Intern in the Office of HIV/AIDS at USAID. A Q&A session will round out the event.
