How Foundation Relations Can Help
BU’s Foundation Relations team can support you in various ways as you begin your career as an independent faculty member. We support faculty in several ways.
- Creating Early-Career Funding Roadmaps: comprehensive lists of private and federal funding opportunities customized to your field of research and years of eligibility. These tables allow faculty to see at a glance which programs to apply to and when. You can request a roadmap by contacting the Foundation Relations team member who supports your academic unit.
“Thank you very much for creating this roadmap for me. This is absolutely phenomenal!”
—Sanne Verschuren, Assistant Professor of International Security
- Identifying funding programs aligned with your research, in part by drawing from our database of thousands of requests for proposals (RFPs).
- Connecting you to program officers and others (e.g., previous awardees) who can provide you with insights about funding programs.
- Collaborating with you in the LOI and proposal development process by outlining requirements, editing narrative sections, drafting letters of support, providing institutional information, populating application portals, etc.
“Thanks for the extensive proofreading and many excellent comments. Surely this will make the proposal stand out!”
—Adriana Tomic, Assistant Professor, Biomedical Engineering and Virology, Immunology & Microbiology
