Evidence-Based Research

Weighing the Evidence

Now that you are able to research into specific ingredients for herbal and dietary supplements as well as the HDS products themselves, what do you do to consolidate all this knowledge? Indeed, the wealth of resources out there--many of which are scientifically and clinically sound--can be overwhelming, so as a medical provider, you need to be able to weigh the evidence and decide for yourself what is safe. This will ultimately determine how and what you recommend to your patients as alternatives to their medications.

Please play the slide presentation below to learn about regulation of HDS in the United States.
