We partner with faculty, educational leaders and innovators across the BU Campus and around the world to shape the future of higher education.

The Institute is committed to pedagogical innovation, scholarly instruction and evidence-based practices that create transformational learning experiences. Given the fundamental changes we are seeing in higher education, and the acceleration of technology, the need for visionary leadership and excellence in teaching is more important than ever.

We support the entire BU faculty community through the exploration of new approaches and enhancements to teaching and learning. Through collaborations with our schools and colleges, we help identify and promote meaningful initiatives that are designed to bring value, relevance and distinction to the student experience.

Our primary focus is to build relationships across our faculty community.

This focus guides our alignment on the strategic initiatives important to the university, catalyzes innovations in areas like AI and creates sustainable and lasting impact for our students.

We are stewards of education, responsible for creating environments where students and faculty can thrive. Whether that is through the new advancements we are making to reimagine our large classrooms in more innovative ways, or instituting team-based approaches to foster inclusivity, we remain resolutely focused on helping every student succeed.

Importantly, we work alongside each other every day to continuously improve teaching and learning at BU. In that process, we foster connection and collaboration; we build community. The whole becomes greater than the sum of its parts.
