The following courses were transformed from a traditional lecture to a hybrid instruction model in order to enable an active learning environment and improve student learning outcomes and engagement:
Professor Little belongs to the Information System and Sciences (ISS) Laboratory, the Multimedia Communications Laboratory, and the Center for Information and Systems Engineering. His current research interests covers mobile ad hoc, opportunistic and delay tolerant networking; vehicular (V2Vand V2) networking; video streaming in wireless sensor nets; communications with Led and ambient computing.
Professor Farny’s chief research interests center on physical acoustics, with a focus on medical applications of ultrasound. His past research has examined effects of bubble cavitation on ultrasound-induced heating in tissue, and diagnostic methods for detecting the presence and location of cavitation during sonication. Professor Attaway coordinates and teaches the introductory engineering course for freshmen. Using MATLAB as the platform for instruction, she uses the approach of teaching basic programming concepts and the efficient use of built-in functions side-by-side. Professor Carruthers received his Ph.D. (1997) and M.S. (1993) from the University of California, Berkeley, in Electrical Engineering. He received his B.Eng (1990) at Carleton University (Canada) in Computer Systems Engineering. Dr. Carruthers is a Senior Member of IEEE, IEEE Communications Society and the IASTED Technical Committee on Telecommunications.
