Academic Technology & Innovation is dedicated to enhancing the adoption and effective use of educational technologies across BU, ensuring a high-quality, engaging and consistent student learning experience.

We place emphasis on emerging technology areas such as AI to support the attainment of optimized educational outcomes, and also significantly enhance the resources available to faculty and students.

Our Approach

We help members of the BU faculty and teaching community effectively integrate instructional technologies in their teaching practices. We have a team of learning design consultants, media specialists, user experience designers and instructors who help to bridge the gap and enable informed academic decision making.

We also provide strategic consultation to schools and colleges, advocating for the integration of core systems that drive scale, innovation and efficiency.

Our Goals

We are focused on shaping a digitally optimized learning experience for all undergraduate and graduate students by guiding the adoption and effective use of our digital learning platforms and related technologies. We also support curricular innovation by offering learning design consultations, media services, tools and resources that lay the foundation for academic excellence at scale and across a wide range of current and emerging curriculum and program areas.
