Inspired by human-centered design, adaptability, and continuous improvement, Romy leads a team of educational technologists, multimedia producers, and digital learning designers at Boston University to accelerate the University's educational transformation through purposeful and novel uses of technology.
During the past decade, she has played a pivotal role in developing the University's capacity for digital education, including the production of BU's first online MBA program, co-chairing campus-wide events focusing on transforming classrooms and teaching approaches, and launching several long-standing innovation grant initiatives. Her approach to education emphasizes the importance of data-driven insights, collaborative teams, and the potential of digital platforms to enhance the learning experience for diverse audiences.
Romy holds an M.Ed degree in human development and psychology (Harvard GSE); an MA in humanities and leadership (New College of California); and a BA in English Language and Literature (Whitman College). Throughout her career, Romy’s work and research have focused on the sociology of education, universal design for learning, and 20th-century social movements.
