Secure Your Hub’s Spot at the Virtual CTSA Program Meeting Poster Session this Fall!

This year’s Fall CTSA Program Meeting will host a virtual Networking & Poster Session on Friday, November 20th.  The timing is not confirmed yet.

Details:

• Poster Session Theme: Innovative Approaches and Solutions to Common Translational Science Problems, in particular, consideration of COVID accommodations
• One poster per CTSA Program hub or coordinating center is permitted
• Be sure to highlight your organization’s vision / successes

• Electronic versions of the abstract and poster will be available for viewing on the CLIC website

Deadline for Initial Poster Submission:  Thursday, October 22, 2020.

NCATS’ CTSA Program Hubs Will Play a Key Role in New Clinical Trial The National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) will coordinate and oversee the trial, known as ACTIV-1 Immune Modulators, which expects to enroll approximately 2,000 hospitalized adults with moderate-to-severe COVID-19 at medical facilities in the United States and Latin America. NCATS’ Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSA) Program and the Trial Innovation Network will play a key role in adding U.S. study sites and enrolling patients, including those from communities disproportionately affected by COVID-19.

New App Lets Users Track Mask Usage Researchers at Indianapolis-based Regenstrief Institute are asking people to help collect data on mask usage through a new web app. The institute has tracked data throughout the pandemic on cases, positivity rates and hospitalizations. Regenstrief President and CEO Dr. Peter Embi says the MaskCount app makes it easier to track widespread data.

CU-CSU Summit VIII – Building Research Collaboration

Every summer, the CCTSI hosts a daylong conference with the goal of fostering new collaborations across campuses and research areas. In 2020, the CU-CSU Summit took place on August 19–and was completely online for the first time ever!

The conference drew PhD, DVM and MD investigators, graduate and medical students, residents and post-doc fellows, veterinary students, associate deans, department and division heads from CU Anschutz, CU Boulder, CU Denver and CSU. And in 2020, attendees were able to claim CME or MOC credits.

In 2012, neurologist Andrew Charles received a phone call from a septuagenarian engineer who had begun having migraines with aura at the age of 14. The man, who asked to be identified as P.V., told Charles that for the previous 18 years he had been drawing every single aura he had experienced — an average of 80 per year.
