Do you have an idea for a new technology that could have a great commercial potential? Are you looking for funding support to take it to the next level?

The Office of Technology Development at Boston University is proud to announce a call for pre-proposals for Boston University’s 2016-2017 IGNITION award cycle. The IGNITION Award supports Boston University researchers with great ideas who want to demonstrate the feasibility of their technologies in order to increase licensing and/or investor interest. Twenty nine awards have been made in the last four years alone and each year five to eight $50K awards are granted.

Proposals will be considered on ground of commercialization potential, feasibility, technical excellence, and project team. Teams submitting promising pre-proposals will be invited to submit full project proposals. Final candidates will be invited to present to a review committee with members from the Boston investment and industry community. Winners of the IGNITION award will receive up to $50K one year grants and gain access to an experienced mentor to help guide product development.
