
Benjamin Keating
Assistant Director
As Assistant Director, Benjamin (Ben) Keating helps faculty develop innovative approaches to teaching, with a focus on resources related to the BU Hub. Ben offers consultations on proposing new Hub courses and enhancing existing Hub courses, as well as consultations that promote student-centered teaching practices. Ben’s interdisciplinary background—with research on language diversity, collaborative learning, critical theory, and qualitative methods in K–16 education—shapes his work with faculty. Before turning to educational development, Ben taught at a variety of schools, including University of Michigan, UC Berkeley, and Wake Forest University.
Ben holds a PhD from University of Michigan’s Joint Program in English and Education, a Master of Fine Arts in Poetry from the University of California, Irvine, and a BA in English from Kenyon College.
