NSF Smart and Connected Health (SCH) PI Workshop
March 20-22, 2017
The primary purpose of this workshop is to assemble the community of Principal Investigators (PIs) supported by the NSF Smart and Connected Health Program.
The NSF Smart and Connected Health (SCH) Program seeks to accelerate the development and use of innovative approaches that would support the much needed transformation of healthcare from reactive and hospital-centered to preventive, proactive, evidence-based, person-centered and focused on well-being rather than disease.
The goal of the Workshop is to identify new opportunities, meet others in the field, enhance and strengthen multidisciplinary directions, develop a longer-term agenda for SCH research areas that include the potential scientific benefits, novel exploration, and challenges involved in advancing smart health, especially in connected communities.
This year’s Workshop will include:
- March 21-22, 2017: The SCH PI Meeting where all SCH PIs are required to participate.
- March 21-22, 2017: A Student Outreach Event whose purpose is to support the participation of women and underrepresented minority graduate students or postdoctoral associates with SCH related research to the PI Meeting.
- March 20-21, 2017: By invitation Only, a Visioning Meeting with a limited number of SCH PIs and outside experts to help assess the state of the field, identify gaps, explore new promising directions, and assist NSF in defining the next generation of the SCH program.
We look forward to seeing you in Boston!
