Research Interests

Vardar-Ulu group is interested in designing and implementing student centered interdisciplinary curricula and novel classroom assessment strategies for students interested in life sciences. Group’s research is focused on three areas: (1) developing and evaluating molecular case studies in collaboration with Molecular CaseNet (RCSB-PDB) for improving visual literacy and effective teaching of the structure-function relationship. (2) creating teaching materials by students for students. (3) developing novel competency based assessment strategies for laboratory courses that can be propagated across courses and into professional platforms.
