Nerdy Book Club
“Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less.”
-Marie Curie
The “Nerdy Book Club” (working title; feel free to suggest a better one — best title wins a prize!) is an opportunity for faculty and students to meet in an informal setting to discuss some really interesting books. The books selected are meant for general audiences and include topics broadly across the STEM fields. Some titles include “Physics of the Impossible” by Michio Kaku, “The Making of the Atomic Bomb” by Richard Rhodes, and “We Have No Idea” by Jorge Cham and Daniel Whiteson.

When? The plan is for NBC to meet a couple of times each semester (as well as over the summer). Exact dates and times will be announced.
Who? All members of the BU community (students, faculty, staff, and other) are invited to attend. All you need is to enjoy interesting books and want to chat about them!
Why join? That’s up to you, but you’ll probably want to join if you enjoy talking about really cool subjects related to STEM.
