Postdoc, Cognitive Development /Science Education, BU Child Cognition Lab (July 2022)


We are looking for a PostDoctoral Research Fellow to join the team for the NSF DRK12 Award: “Evolving Minds: Promoting CausalExplanatory Teaching and Learning of Biological Evolution in Elementary School.” You can read more about the grant here: https://t.co/Zihuw5alCsThis position involves project management as part of an interdisciplinary collaboration with TERC exploring elementary school children’s and teacher’s learning of life science concepts (evolution). Applicants should have particular interest in children’s early science learning, inquiry, cognitive development, and DesignBased Research (DBR) in elementary school classrooms on early science curricula. The successful candidate will receive substantive career mentoring and opportunities for independent research and professional development.


Applicants: PhD in any of the following specialties: science education, cognitive science, cognitive and/or developmental psychology. Background in experimental and/or intervention research design; quantitative and qualitative data analytic methods; capacity for independent, creative scholarship and solid writing skills, some evidence of productivity in peerreviewed journals, strong project management and teamwork skills. Some background or interest in the life sciences may also be helpful. This postdoc position is for 2 years with possible further renewal. BU Postdoctoral Fellows are evaluated each year for renewal.
