An Educational Intervention to Address Intuitive Misconceptions about COVID-19

Age: Any caregiver or teacher of a child enrolled in the 1st or 2nd grade, and any child enrolled in the 1st or 2nd grade.

Description: In this study, we are trying to better understand the way young children and their caregivers and teachers learn about biological and public health concepts like disease.

Length: 60 minutes total: 20-60 minute online survey and 30 minute video interview.

Payment: $12/hour through Qualtrics, and $10 gift cards for families whose children participate.

Reasoning about the World Study

Age: 6-7 year olds

Description: In this study, we are looking at how stories about the earth can affect the way children think about nature and living things. We will show your child a short video and ask them questions about the environment.

Length: This is a quick one-time study that takes about 25 minutes.

Payment: Your child will receive a prize for their help. We also provide free parking here on campus, and can provide babysitting if you need to bring another child.
