Jasmine Bergstrom

About
Jasmine is an undergraduate student at Boston University majoring in Neuroscience on the pre-med track, with plans to attend medical school in the future. She is deeply interested in neuroscience, particularly cognition, language, and how the brain supports communication and movement. At the Center for Brain Recovery, she assists with conducting assessments in both English and Spanish for bilingual individuals with post-stroke aphasia, contributes to data analysis, and supports ongoing research focused on language and cognitive impairments following neurological injury. She finds it especially fascinating to observe the many different ways aphasia and other impairments can present across individuals and how these conditions affect daily life and communication. She greatly values the opportunity to interact directly with participants and hopes that this work can contribute to improving diagnostic tools, recovery outcomes, and overall quality of life for individuals affected by neurological conditions. Through both research and patient interaction, she is excited to continue learning more about the brain and pursue a future career in medicine.

Research Interests
Cognition, language, and aphasia, with a focus on how neurological conditions affect communication and cognitive function, movement disorders and the neural mechanisms involved in motor control and recovery.
