Divya Sivakumar

Undergraduate Student

About

Divya is a current undergraduate pursuing a major in Neuroscience with a minor in Data Science at Boston University and is working on the R01 Bilingual Computational Modeling project at the Center for Brain Recovery (CBR). Her responsibilities for this project include administering and scoring neuropsychological assessments, assisting with patient recruitment, coding semantic errors, and managing clinical data, which have allowed her to cultivate her interest in aphasia and clinical research. She has also had the opportunity to develop a UROP project focused on automating feature extraction from connected speech transcripts in bilingual patients with post-stroke aphasia and primary progressive aphasia, providing her with insight into how computational approaches can be applied to patient populations. She has particularly enjoyed building a computational pipeline and interacting with patients during her time at CBR, and she hopes to pursue a PhD in the future, expanding on this work at the intersection of computational and clinical neuroscience.
