About
Erie Shivers is currently a research assistant at the Center for Brain Recovery (CBR) working on the Neuroscience of the Everyday World (NEW) functional near infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) project along with a project involving computational modeling of bilinguals with aphasia and/or dementia. Erie graduated from Boston University in May of 2024 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Neuroscience, with a minor in Biology. During their undergrad, they could often be found in the Organic Chemistry Teaching Laboratory where they nurtured their love of teaching. Erie has discovered a passion for linguistics and is planning on pursuing a Ph.D. in the Speech, Language, and Hearing sciences where they hope to utilize their background in Neuroscience to explore language consolidation and language as a function of consciousness. Erie has many hobbies outside of their work including sailing tall ships, crocheting, reading, taking long walks in nature, baking, and collecting art.
