History of Boston: Community and Conflict
Course Title: History of Boston: Community and Conflict
Description of EL Component: A collaboration between the Massachusetts Historical Society and our History Department. Students work with the MHS’s collection of archives, objects, maps and images related to Boston’s history for their semester-long projects. They then present this material in the main reading-room of the MHS at the end of the semester before an audience of friends, family, and members of the general public. This is an exciting and memorable experience for students and a unique, hands-on way of learning history in ways no classroom experience can offer.
