If a colleague or a direct report are injured at work immediate medical care is vital.

If the Injury or Illness is an Emergency

  • Call 911.

Beginning 9/1/2021, any BU work-related injury or illness should be reported to Conduent at 833-951-2415.

  • If a hazardous condition exists, contact the Control Desk at Facilities Management & Planning at 617-353-2105 and/or Environmental Health & Safety at 617-353-4094.
  • The injured employee must schedule an appointment with the BU Occupational Health Center within 24 hours after being discharged.
Examples of Emergencies
  • Loss of Consciousness
  • Severe Bleeding
  • Difficulty Breathing
  • Chest Pains
  • Seizures
  • Any injury where the employee requests an ambulance
  • Any injury where you or the employee are unsure if emergency care is needed

    Non-Emergency Illness or Injury

    Any BU work-related injury or illness should be reported to Conduent at 833-951-2415.

    • The injured employee must be evaluated at the Occupational Health Center at 930 Commonwealth Avenue during regular hours of operation.
    • All research-related injuries must be reported to Research Occupational Health Program at 617-414-7647.
    • Secure the incident scene.
    • If a hazardous condition exists, contact the Control Desk at Facilities Management & Planning at 617-353-2105 and/or Environmental Health & Safety at 617-353-4094.
    • If the injured employee receives medical care outside the University, he or she must schedule an appointment with the Occupational Health Center before returning to work.
    • The Nurse Case Manager from BUOHC will have ongoing communication with you.
    • BUOHC will file a claim with CCMSI, the third party administration of Workers’ Compensation.

    • Sprains/Strains
    • Contusions/Bruises
    • Minor Cuts and Scrapes
    • Skin Rashes
    • Injuries requiring Basic First Aid
