BU Researchers Find 47 Million Americans at High Health Risk from Fossil Fuel Infrastructure

According to new BU research, more than 14 percent of Americans are at increased health risk simply because they live within one mile of fossil fuel infrastructure. Researchers at the @bu_igs (Institute for Global Sustainability) and the @busph (BU School of Public Health) used a first-of-its-kind database to reveal the widespread impact of fossil fuel facilities and to guide policymakers toward solutions. This study spotlights the urgent public health challenges and environmental justice issues faced by communities exposed to fossil fuel pollution.
