Zophia Edwards

Zophia Edwards (GRS’15,’15) of Baltimore, Md., published Fueling Development: How Black Radical Trade Unionism Transformed Trinidad and Tobago (Duke University Press, 2025), in which she traces Trinidad and Tobago’s democratic and redistributive development and its formation of a Black radical working class. Zophia is an assistant professor of sociology at Johns Hopkins University and the author of Race, Capitalism, and the COVID-19 Pandemic (Daraja Press, 2021).
