Yanina Kisler
Yanina Kisler (ENG’83, CAS’83) of Lexington, Mass., published They Were Fighters: Oral Histories of Jews Leaving the Soviet Union (Elevator Pitch Publishing, 2024), a compilation and an analysis of interviews with more than 100 Jewish people who emigrated from the USSR in the 1970s and 1980s. The text also provides a history of the Russian Empire and the USSR, offering a key understanding of the area’s historical and cultural impact on its Jewish populations.
